A Long, Happy Life on Rocky Ridge

The couple would live a long and prosperous life together.  While they sold some parts of the farm in their later years, they kept some farm animals and tended to their flower and vegetable gardens.  Almanzo would pass on in 1949 at 92 years of age.  Laura would spend the next eight years living alone on the farm, but looked after by a close circle of friends and neighbors.  She passed away in her sleep on February 10, 1957, three days after her 90th birthday.

We're grateful for her life and work and thanks for enjoying these old photos with us!
